Youth Sports & Programs

Advanced Youth Strength Class
In order to accommodate young adults who would like to workout in the Fitness Center, we have created a new class designed for mature, responsible youth to have access to the Cybex Circuit Machines and cardio equipment only at specific times throughout the week.  Ask at the front desk for more information.

Age: 12 - 14 years old
Dates: Session I:   Mar. 10 - Apr. 11
  Session IIApr. 14 - May 16
Days: Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays
Times: 5:30 - 7:00 pm
Cost: $15 per session for members only
Bus Pass Cost: $10

Youth Strength Training
Youth Strength Training is a 5 week course focusing on strength training and cardiovascular endurance with the direct guidance and program instruction.  This course offers a variety of activities including running, cycling, swimming, and weight training.  Youth Strength is designed for all levels of physical activity, and transportation to the YMCA from local schools is available at an additional cost. 

Age: 11 - 15 years old
Dates: Apr. 7 - May 14, 2008
Days: Mondays & Wednesdays
Times: 4:00 - 4:45 pm
Cost: $30 per session for members only
Bus Pass: $10.

Youth Volleyball Camp
This camp is designed for youth to develop their setting, bumping, and serving skills through game play and drills.

Location: YMCA Gymnasium

Youth Flag Football Camp
This camp is designed for youth to develop their setting, bumping, and serving skills through game play and drills.

Date: June 19 - 20, 2008

Grades: K - 2nd
Grades: 3rd- 6th
Cost: Member - $25             Nonmember - $35

Youth All Sports Camp
Come and learn the fundamentals of soccer, basketball, and football through game play and drills.

Date: July 16 - July 18, 2008
Times: 12:00-5:00 pm
Grades: 3rd - 6th boys and girls
Cost: Member - $50             Nonmember - $65

Youth Basketball "SWISH" Camp
This camp will be run by Jim Seward from School of Hoops. 
Jim Seward was a highly successful basketball coach for 32 years.  He now is recognized by his peers as one of the best teachers of the fundamentals of basketball.  Jim Seward will teach participants skills in dribbling, shooting, and passing that can help participants become better all around basketball players.  Look for registration sheet for dates and times.

Itty Bitty Indoor Soccer
This program is designed to teach children ages 4-Kindergarten the basics of soccer.  Participants will work on soccer skills, sportsmanship, and team spirit.

Session Dates: June 12 - July 10, 2008
Days/Times: Thursdays 10:00-10:30 am
Age: 4 - 6 years
Fee: Member - $15             Nonmember - $25

Itty Bitty Basketball
This 5-week program will help participants learn basic fundamentals of the game of basketball such as dribbling, shooting, and passing through game play and other activities in a fun environment.

Days/Times: Tuesdays 10:00-10:30 am
Age: 4 - 6 years
Fee: Member - $15             Nonmember - $25

Karate
The Blair Family YMCA is your training branch for Page Warrior Karate!  This program focuses on learning physical skills as well as the development of self-discipline, self-control, and self-respect.

Little Dragons Ages 4-6
Classes: Thursdays
Time: 5:15-6:00 pm
Combined Kids and Adults 7 & Older
Classes: Tuesdays & Thursdays
Time: 6:00-7:00 pm
